Actually, I hate it when people do this - post threads with craigslist or eBay stuff - yet here ya go. www.ebay.com/itm/Lortone-ST-10-Automatic-feed-10-Lapidary-Saw-/231362047044?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35de40ac44A Lortone ST-10 saw for $600 doesn't jump out and scream DEAL to me. But, if you're local to San Antonio Texas, he will knock the price down to $400 if he doesn't have to ship it. At $400 I'd be all over this saw. The listing has many photos (which can be enlarged) that anyone interested in / or already owning a lapidary saw should appreciate. I gotta go find something to do to keep myself from buying it! Gotta appreciate a well constructed listing.

I drove three hours one way and paid $400 for one. I don't have a whole lot to compare to, but it works great.

Came across a Craigslist ad for lapidary recently. I called the gentleman, an older fella, and he had difficulty remembering just what he had for sale. I went to take a look. There was a lortone QT-66 tumbler, A 6" diamond wheel cabbing machine (2 diamond galaxy wheels and end-lap, another 6" saw/ cabbing unit with more diamond grinders and end laps, 15 milk crates of Thundereggs, assorted jaspars, agates and pet wood, A jar of windowed fire agate pieces, AND the 10" Lortone saw pictured above (same model). Anyone wanna guess what he wanted for all this? Hint: You won't believe it!

$400 would be very good. I did sell one local for $300, but it was looking its age.

Well I think you did real good. Are you close enough to the seller that he reduced shipping? Either way, I think it's a good looking saw.
I was working out in the shop today thinking about it. Kinda wishing I had bought it myself, but I'm holding out and searching for a high quality used 12" unit.

I would hope that no one took advantage of him at that price, as he obviously didn't understand what he had.

No I don't live close to Texas....actually I am in PA. It is being shipped to me by freight truck, crated.
This will be my first slab saw and I am excited to give it a try.

(mario)He really was just happy to get rid of everything, as he hadn't used it in some time and was downsizing to a nice motorhome to hit the road. I gifted him & his wife one of the slab/candle holders I make, to ease my guilty conscience.

Saw arrived on Friday. The seller did a nice job of putting it in a crate. The saw arrived nice and clean. Can not wait to get a new blade and try it out.

I have the same saw, and mine is a cutting machine! You'll really enjoy it, and congrats.
