Howdy folks, This is a cobble the kiddoes brought in from Carizzo Springs, TX. Very rounded and smooth on the outside so I initially thought it was an agate but upon looking closer, I found it was breccia. Too big to slab on my saw but, you know how it is, I just had to see what was inside so I managed to get in into the vice and cut off the tip end. Really interesting and really smooth and unpitted when I cut it. Full of little jasper pebbles and some agate too, all sealed together by red and yellow silica. Here's a pic of the clipped end.....Mel

*L* Like I said , they are still at the "picking up pretty rocks" stage. With them young, sharp eyes close to the ground, wait till I get them trained up as proper agate hunters *S*......Mel

That's great, I especially like the bottom left corner.
