hi all, just received my thumers ar2 2 barrel tumbler, looks to be in good shape, one problem is lids have a very slow leak in them. I know machine was not in use for quite a while, the barrels an lids look real good, hoping they just need to be used to swell up. anyone know any way to seal the lids like vasoline or ? when starting a load, thank you joejan

We were given two model T's that hadn't been used for quite a while, I think they use the same barrel as yours. Had the same problem, replacing the O-rings that squish the barrel to the lid fixed it. I went to the local industrial supply and got 1/4" cross section rings [o-ring mtl. 1/4" diameter] of an outside diameter that just barely slid into the barrel, O.D. of ring same as I.D. of barrel.

It isn't a "cross section ring", that is the term used for a ring made of 1/4" diameter material. In other words, a piece of 1/4" diameter round rubber material formed into a ring. The term cross section is industry "techno talk".

I purchased a few extra rings when I purchased mine from The Rock Shed. I found them a little hard to get around the barrel but realized you can really stretch them to fit. Anyway, I agree with Quartz. New ring should fix the problem. Ed M.
