New on the forum here, but am a seasoned rock hound. Greetings all.
I've been collecting Wyoming Nephrite for many years and on my last trip I found a solid chunk approximately 70 lbs. that is white through and through. A flashlight beam will penetrate visibly approximately one inch through the material, so it has some translucency also. Sorry, no photos. All preliminary tests indicate genuine nephrite jade and I'll probably have an x ray diffraction test done to confirm soon.
My question is: has anyone ever heard of white nephrite being found in Wyoming, or anywhere else in North America? Any information about the presence of white jade in Wyoming would be appreciated. Thanks.
