Now THAT'S how ya join a forum! Welcome to the RTH Forum mrlesher. Some fine looking rocks there. Where do you find specimens like these? What can you tell us about that piece in the forth picture down?

1,5,6 and 7 were found at Palmer Canyon WY. 3 and 4 are the same specimen. and i don't know any thing about it. it was a gift from my neighbor. 2 was found in my front yard and i don't know any more than that. 6 and 8 i found in the cedar canyon, cedar city ut.

like metal shavings. very soft can be scratched with the fingernail. you can see crystals when you look from the side

Sure could be I reckon. Kinda shiny which is why I went with a mica schist guess. Either way you're gonna have to keep the day job!
