Editing to add that the dead craigslist link was to a lapidary sale with {thousands of pounds of highly desirable rocks and mineral specimens along with a bunch of various lapidary machines. A truly rare type of sale. tampa.craigslist.org/hil/clt/4750559085.htmlaaaah yeah... BIG trouble. HUGE even! Wife unit ain't gonna like this one bit. *sigh*

hmmm, except for the signature, I was going to ask if it wasn't an ad your wife put in there??? At least you have a little time to gather your resources. (and ask for permission or prepare your excuses) My sister always says it is easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission. works for me!

It would be just plain wrong to pass up such a great opportunity! You wouldn't want to do anything wrong!

Good thing my wife's name isn't Denise, I'm be wondering if the name in the ad was a typo! She walks around looking at rocks and pointing saying: "A dollar, that's a dollar, maybe two dollars for that one ...." She knows it drives me crazy when she is pointing out specimens worth hundreds or thousands. Her parting barb is usually something along the lines of "First 100 bucks can have 'em all if they take the iguana too!" wimmins! I've already been in contact with the seller. Sale is next week. Asked about coming earlier and even offered to come help move stuff. He said he "would be in contact". gonna be a long week *sigh*

That will give you time to get airbags for your truck so you can haul all of that.

I just got me a Get Outta The Doghouse card and it's gonna be played by the end of the week! Our puppy girl Cody passed away about a month ago. We miss her terribly, but I was wanting to wait awhile before we got another dog. We still have our boy dog Thor. This is Cody in her pool - well..... my wife "just happened" to be browsing a Rottweiler Rescue website and saw this: www.ggarr.org/Wanda2014.shtmlThis is Wanda - aaaaahhhhh yeah .... You guessed it! We're driving from St. Pete to Miami on Friday. 5 hours each way and we have to take our boy dog with us to meet Wanda. Wasn't looking for another dog just yet, but gotta like being dealt the Ace! So, I hopefully go to the sale of Thursday and we go to Miami Friday. Might even be a quiet car ride down!

Now she wants to rename it before we even meet it.
*sigh*
I told her that was bad luck, like renaming a boat.

sorry for your loss Bob, it takes a big chunk of your heart when you lose a dog. Wanda looks like a lovely young lady! We did not rename our dog when we adopted her because she already knew who she was. she also knows she is a "dog". If she had not recognized her name already I think we would have renamed her. sometimes the rescues rename the pets, so they really aren't familiar with their names. Wouldn't hesitate to rename one If it didn't respond to what they were calling her. Best wishes and congrats on the new family member. Don't forget to post lots of pictures of your sale treasures ( just a little jealous, both of the new dog and your about-to-be shopping adventure!)

The seller with the craigslist ad just emailed me and said that he is not ready to start the sale tomorrow. Not sure if I should try to push for a private, before the sale, invite. Not like I'm not going to spend a butt load of $$ there if his prices are reasonable. I can't get in touch with him other than through craigslist, so I don't want to push too hard. This stinks
