Anyone recognize this? I thought maybe it was something that rockpickerforever Jean sent me but everything else she sent I still have the blue tape with her writing on. It's just a small single-cabber but before I ruin it I sure would like to know what it is.

so I'm curious how unusual is that light color variant? I know I haven't seen it before.

Dino bone often comes from very colorful sedimentary layers so the most often seen colors are in the red spectrum but I have bone slabs of almost every color including light pastels in cream, pink, green, yellowish etc.....Mel

Thanks. I bought a small chunk of black very chatoyant dino bone at the Sacramento show this weekend - paid $15 for a piece large enough for maybe three slabbettes - maybe 5 cabochons. When I got it home I started slicing it and it started disintegrating right in my hands haha... crap ... any way to stabilize something like that?

Tommy, I've got to admit I'm too dang lazy to fiddle with stabilization. I might fill a pit with Hot Stuff or super glue but mainly, if it don't cut, I chuck it out....Mel
