Well i'm going out blacklighting for amber tomorrow, i'll post more pics if I find anything larger. Heres some pics of one piece that I slightly hand polished. the black in it you see is moss / leafy stuff. This pic is showing the leafy stuff. Pic showing full color Pic using UV light and camera flash Pic with only UV light (I know shaky but its the best I can do without a stand). This year's amber In place Heres that piece all polished up to my liking. Under normal light

I didn't know Alaska had amber. Also interesting to see the reds and greens in that last piece.
Get a tripod for the UV photos. I posted some tips and tricks for photographing UV way back. If you can figure out how to search for it, it will help. I think it was under Specimen Photographs.
Any bugs yet?
Darryl.

Yeah, its best if you can find it yourself, so you know it is the real deal from the area. I have a few more pieces I need to polish up but they are not as large. Maybe some day I can find enough that i'd be willing to part ways with some.. The only stuff i'd part with now is rather small.

So far I just polished with my dremel, but I might take it to the cabbing machine for the fine polish.
