I'm excited as heck to have received a new batch of Dallasite that I bought from bcrockhound. He sent me a great box of material - went more than a few pounds north of the lbs I paid for and I'm pretty happy with it. He is a good guy and you can trust him. Love this stuff! Made one cabochon already.

I got a box from Stew today myself! Can't wait to get in it, but will wait until the MIL leaves later tonight. Some nice big pieces in that batch.
Nice cab! And good looking piece of Flower Stone in the back of that box too.

I really love that cab. Thanks for the kind words and glad you like it. James, privatize Canada Post and fix BC Ferries for me and we're on.

Not sure if the scenery comes close, but the weather makes up for a lot. Probably especially as winter sets in on the great white north.

I think I already own a nice chunk of your coral - got it from Scott and the traveling rock box when we connected with him at Quartzsite in January. I've been scared to mess with it haha. One of these days I'm going to ask you for advice on the best way to go about cutting it - if that's even recommended.

I am wondering if you got the piece that had a notorious note written on it Tommy. Cut that sucker up and make some cabs. No problem. it is on the hard side. Coarse grind slow, polishes fast. Good for long slender shapes as it is tough and often has few fractures. Not always the flashiest stone in the bucket, but makes nice monotone and bi-tone cabs. Thin cabs for that matter, that may show it's translucence. I tumble thin chips at double speed with big chunks mixed in w/it. Hardly ever breaks. Good for guitar pics and knapping long skinny spearheads.

Despite how nice it may look here, I am very jealous of anyone living in warmer/sunnier climates. It doesn't snow much down in Vancouver but there's something about the humidity/proximity to the ocean that makes -1C here feel like -20C in Fort St. John. I love rain but darkness at 4:30pm is depressing.

darkness at 4:30?? Not sooner? It's dark here at 5. Not much better!! jamesp - Notorious note? Just so you know, you sent me so much coral, I have been gifting it to friends as I meet them. I do always let them know it's from you. I am not seeking credit. Just wanting to spread the wealth!
