I was given an early Christmas gift of a magnifying light. I took it out yesterday and set it up and today it dawned on me that I can do this!
my picture taking has just improved 100 percent (not that I can't improve more) plus I get this nifty framed effect LOL (thank you Santa)

That is your coolest photo yet!

Mike, the glass inset is about 6 inches across, guessing because I didn't go down to the basement to measure it it Is a switched light and the arm it is mounted on has several joints so you can position it in almost any direction and any height. We got it at JoAnn Fabrics, they were having a sale and we also had a 25 percent off coupon... such a deal! There were several fancier ones but this fit my needs nicely. Santa is good to me.

JamesP I am very nearsighted and have worn glasses with bifocals since age 8. It has been downhill ever since
that was 55 years ago. I highly recommend this light!

snowmom what did you use before getting this lamp? I use optivisor, but the light feature here looks like a grand idea.

At age 40 the close up vision went bad. Was spoiled having it so long. I feel for you. I see this magnifier opening your world up. Lot cool stuff going on up close. Especially all those fossil conglomerates you find.

Pat, I struggled with a regular reading lamp and grandpas old hand held magnifying glass. If I don't have the glasses on and I set them down somewhere I am too blind to find them except by feel. The magnifying light is a real Godsend. I have not tried reading under it but I bet I could, and bet I would like it! going to look up optivisor now! thanks!
