The trick is to put a lot of tender under it. Or push a pile next to a large fire onto the fire with the tractor.
Popping rates of 20 per second can be done. If they are big canes the noise is painful to your ears.
Low tone booms that can be felt in the chest plate. Not sure what the decibels are, but certainly potential to damage ears.
