Hi, They are beautiful. If I had to pick a favourite it would be third from last. Great colours! Thanks for sharing with us.

Hi, They are beautiful. If I had to pick a favourite it would be third from last. Great colours! Thanks for sharing with us. The color and patterns are very similar to your agates Ian. Uncanny similar. The eyes and the tight fortifications. The crystal quartz areas and the color. Curious if similar geology exists at you 57 latitude and Lake Superior's 47.

beautiful! I see many similarities in the 2 kinds of agates, too, and was struck by the similarities in some of the Chinese agates azgnoinc posted a while back as well.. interesting point Jamesp.

Thanks all,
Ian do you live in Scottland? In answer to James question whenever I have seen movies and pictures of Scottland's land I noticed some very strong similarities in the way our lands look especially if you go to the Northern Minnesota area. Plus the agates are more plentiful up North too.

Those are the most similar looking agates to be from such a great distance from each other. Was curious if the lay of the land was similar. Yes, Ian is from Scotland. Would think that they had to be formed in similar conditions. Always was fond of L. Superiors, when iant started posting his I noticed the similarity, and Kelly's are even more similar than other Superiors.

Nice looking stuff you have there. Lakers are near the top of my list of things I like to tumble. If they took about half as long they would be at the top Chuck

Yes, many similarities, however, most things your side of the water are on a grander scale, including the agates!

We went to a rock show in Canby, OR last month. There was a display of Lake Superior agates, the first we had seen other than in pictures. Very much a treat, beautiful rocks.
