I was wondering. Which takes a better polish? Ruby in Zoisite or Ruby in Fuchsite?.....am looking to make a pendent with one or the other for Christmas. Just wondered which would shine up better....................Thanks Chris

I think the polish level is similar LOOKING. But Zoistie is much harder than Fuchite so should take a polish better. So, Zoisite should undercut less than the Fuchite.
I prefer the Ruby in Zoisite look, with the darker green and I actually prefer some of the black hornblende throughout the green - but that's a personal opinion.
Go to eBay and do a search on both. Compare pictures on which "look" you prefer.

I haven't worked with any Ruby in Zoisite, but I did just finish some Ruby in Fuchsite. They were fairly easy to work and polished up pretty well. Roger

Looks like some varying degrees of hardness in those. Well done. and beautiful color burst.

My experience with r-n-zoisite was that with a lot of effort it took a medium satin shine. The effort was because Every time I thought I was nearing completion it would "flake" on the surface and set me back.
