Looks a lot like my meteorite. Just guessing. Except yours is more black.

Frank says it doesn't attract a magnet...But I was also told if Hematite is heated up,that it will be magnetic...

ilmenite? Did your friend find it at the beach, Fossilman? Think that's where the famous Newport Blues beach agates are found.

Yes he did,the Lincoln City and Depo Bay area...........I cut an agate for him the other day(He found on the beach) it was totally dark blue or black in the inner core,with clear rings in the outer crust(exterior)...

Praying for some wicked winter storms to rip out some sand this year......good to hear some are being found. cheers When we first moved here "El Nino" was still here,it was on its last year-it was freakin' great all beaches were graveled,hardly any sand anywhere..Agates and fossils everywhere!! Than the next year it left,not to come back for four years!!! Turned to all sand.. Well as of this winter its back for four years and is kicking ass too!!!! This next few days the beaches will be getting hit hard with wind and rain..."EL Nino'" is here again!!!!! YAAAAAAA" HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
