Awesome is a good word for it!
Is there a thread somewhere where you explain how you do this?

@arrowheadave - my advice, go but take someone else's truck captbob - just alot of time on my grinder - rough shape on a sintered 80 grit and then over to the 8" expando wheel with belts all the way to 8000. Trying to find a leather belt to also polish on the expando... Just ordered up, finally, a ultrasonic cleaner big enough for these small to mid size specimen rocks to clean them up after polish. cheers

those are killer specimens. Hard to resist slicing up for cabs though. great job and time well spent at the grinder.

Yeah catmandewe there is a little bit of the rattler in that last one....hopefully find some more goodies as I work thru the buckets..... Drummond Island Rocks u know I am not afraid of slicing and dicing, but some rocks just are best left. I really dug how this wrapped around the corner and showed the seam formation in matrix....so it is such. The next guy that gets it can chop it up. Cheers...

wonderful! The contrast between the matrix and the nodule makes the piece so dramatic.

bsky4463Great specimens, I like the way you left the matrix on them. Did you you self collect them. I heard that Bruneau is almost impossible to find any more. I have about 40 lbs of nodules I got in Quartzite in the 80s. Still saving for a slab saw to make something of them. Bruneau is tough to saw or grind but it takes a polish like no other.
