Neat material. It does have a crazy lacey look to it. Wonder if it's from the same region/deposits?....Mel

nice stuff, but looks just like some of the lace that was coming out from the 70's. probably reworking some old claims. hope they bring alot of it out.

nice stuff, but looks just like some of the lace that was coming out from the 70's. probably reworking some old claims. hope they bring alot of it out. They initially thought the claim would produce upwards of 3-4 tons, turns out it produced less than 2, so we'll see what the future holds. Personally I hope they can't/don't find another single ounce making this stuff more rare than it is already. I was only hatched in the earl.y 70's so I have no idea what that old material looks like, but it doesn't look like any lace I've seen or currently own. timloco & jamesp - waiting on warmer weather to cut these up and then we'll see how it turns out, but I'm betting on pretty darn good!!

I named Jessite and wrote the article on it last year. Jessite is very rare in top quality. Mine run material from most mines have 90% medium to low quality and 10% good to gem. Gem in Jessite is about 1%. The sister stone is Kaily Agate and is a bit more plentiful. I have 27000 pounds of it but the same rings true in quality but a bit higher ratio. Kaily is 80% medium to poor grades. White Kaily is more common than the material with good colors. see www.slabstocabs.com for more information and my Facebook page Heusler Academy where I have lots of pix. I think this is Will's material I sold him? This is interesting stuff!

Hi John, I will have to go back and look at who I got it from, it was found through an ebay vendor I was getting some Willow Creek jasper from and asked if they had anything else (not listed on ebay) that was cool & unusual. Very cool stuff thus far but I didn't get it before the snow started to fly so it will be waiting till the spring thaw for me to start cutting. Glad to see you here on RTH!!

Hi, azgnoinc, I think gemologistjohn was trying to figure out to upload pics of the material onto the forum. Read it in the shoutbox thingy. I hope he'll log back on.

jessiegumdrop - No progress at all, been too busy having moved & the new job, plus my saw & tumblers are all a couple hundred miles away right now, I'll post pics when I'm all set back up & rolling again.
