Here are some of my best from the past year. Hopefully it will inspire some of you to post photos of your best from the past year. This is about 1/3 of my total output. This year I've been tumbling mostly Lake Superior agates and Botswana agates. Mostly purchased on e-Bay. My process is to use a 12 lb Lortone for rough grind then a 3 lb Lortone for fine through polish. Silicon carbide 60/90 coarse, graded 220 fine grind then cerium oxide pre-polish followed by tin oxide polish. I had some health problems early in the year so I only finished 6 three pound tumbler loads. 1. Best of 2014 2. Botswanas 3. Botswana closeup 1 4. Botswana closeup 2 5. Lakers 6. Lakers closeup 1 Some me of my favorites: 7. 8. 9. 10. Laker 11. Other side of 10. 12. Laker

Very nice. Always like Lakers. I may have to buy some Bots after seeing yours.

Hey Starguy! What an amazing batch - lovely shine on them. I too am running some Botswanas alongside my local agates at the moment. I love the contrast in the bands. Thanks for posting these!

Thanks everybody. They were a lot of fun to polish. I quit tumbling for about 20 years but decided to start again in 2014. iant. It's amazing how similar some of the lakers are to your Scottish agates. I wish I was as good at photographing rocks as you and jamesp are. The iPad just isn't very good at taking pictures. It sure is convenient though. I definitely need to work on the light source.

I have a $100 digital 'junker' for dirt and mud. I do take care of it but they all take pretty darn good photos. If you are going to tumble that well the camera should be required

iantIt drives me crazy when the eyes pop out. It's not worth going back to the coarse grit to fix it though. I just tell myself that it gives them character. Later, Brent
