That doesn't look like the epidote that I find in Lake Superior. The color of yours is a much darker green than what I find, although there is a lot of variety in the colors from Superior. The Superior epidote is usually more streaky and not so grainy looking. Check out my recent unakite thread to see what I find.

I checked the unakite shots and I agree this is darker. I haven't found anything quite this deep green before but I have found one unakite that was close. But this seems a bit different.
Can aventurine be found in MI?

I found this rock in a farmer's rock pile near Alpena, MI. It looks more like shotgunner's rock than Rattlehead's rock. I'm not sure what it is though.

im pretty sure its epidote. i dont think greenstone , they are just not as nice a green as this and usually rounded . that is a good size piece
