I'll admit it, I've been a rockhound all my life. Here's proof. 37 years later, I've embraced my rock habit and bought a saw and tumblers and took a silversmithing class and a tougher backpack to fit more rocks in when I go hiking. Why not.  |

blast from the past... rock fever hits early and though people say "he'll grow out of it" a lot of times that's not true. great article you can pass on to your heirs.

Such a hobby brings jubilation to any enthusiast. It's a great thing we all like doing our own rock hunts in good weather. There's nothing else like finding your own rough rocks and minerals, sometimes fossils on a bright, warm day after a period of not being able to get out. Keep living the life.  |

Brings back my memories over a half a century ago.I would take the tractor ,pulling a slide behind it,and roll large pet wood pieces up out of the creeks and roll them on the slide and take them home.Good memories!!

I guess you can't be to young or too old for this hobby. I was 56 when I started, 57 now. Guess I have some catching up to do but I'm enjoying the short time I've spent playing with my rocks. Nobody has threatened to commit me yet.
