I don't know if I am in the right categorie, if not I'am sorry:
I am looking for a very reliable jewelry findings supplier. I've already got scammed and I can't sell what I prepared in chrismas market.
All website I founds through a li baba or the web are dishonest (with custommers complain) - this is taking me a lot of time and I'm worrying not having anything ready for january sales. :/
Does someone know a company able to provide:
- Various type, lenght and color of brass/steel chains (with clasp),
- Sizeable rings and bracelet bases (to mount semi-precious gemstones), various coulor, etc
- Serious and professional, able to ship small order fast enough.
Stainless. Nickel free.
Thank you very much!

Rio Grande - www.riogrande.com - is the most reliable jewelry supply vendor I know of. I highly recommend them.

I think all Rio stainless chains contain some nickel.

I find it interesting that even the hypo-allergenic, surgical stainless steel contains some amount of nickel. Alloy 316 is the most commonly used alloy for surgical stainless steel, used in all kinds of biomedical applications and contains nickel. Same with 316L, 316LVM and any other ASTM F138 compliant alloy.
I'm having trouble finding any truly nickel free stainless alloy...I'm not sure it exists.
Alloy 430 has only about 0.75% nickel, that would appear to be the best option if you can find it.

Thanks Don, but I can only see real silver or gold filled. I would need some alloy with gold color, I can't invest much for now. :/

Gold Brass. It contains zero nickel and is widely available.

What kind of jewelry are you making? could you show us an example of what you're looking for? might help us find some options for you.
Other online jewelry supply stores I recommend are:
fire mountain gems Santa Fe jewelry supply Monster Slayer Brandywine Jewelry supply
And a lot of people like Indian Jewelry supply Co. But I've had nothing but bad experiences with them.
I stick to Rio Grande for about 99% of my orders. Nearly always in stock, reasonable prices and their UPS Ground service gets to my door in about 2 days. Customer service is top notch too.

Another vote for riogrande.com
They have "jeweler's gold" which is actually brass. Looks a lot like gold. Jeweler's Brass is a great color match to 14K yellow gold! CDA #230 alloy (85% copper/15% zinc); also known as red brass, NuGold, Jeweler’s Bronze or Merlin’s Gold. Brass sheet also fires well with BRONZclay™ and bronze wire and findings, offering you a wider range of design options.
please note: • This product could contain trace amounts of lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Another good New Mexican alternative is tripps.com/prod2_tool_polish.htm. They are a totally locally based company in Socorro New Mexico, make most of their own findings on site and may have the type of supplies you are looking for as well. Check out their site and or request their catalogue. Tom

I use Tripps also. I get all my settings for stones there, and a lot of c.'s. They also carry a lot of thread, and some metalsmithing tools.

Thank you so much for all the answer. : )
Riogrande is too expensive for me now, hope I can buy to them one day.
Don, for now I mostly have design. I bought semi-precious stones and a need not too expensive chains (not more than 2$ each, I don't need real gold nor silver) to sell some, so I can have something to invest and create more elaborated jewels.
I am starting really from the bottom, but hope some day I can buy greater findings.
Firemountaingems seems to better fit my budget.
