It's her first try at tumbling. She steals a lot of mine that are finished and finally caught the bug. I lent her one of my tumblers and we each got a 5# lot from Super Agates and she picked out the ones she liked the best from both lots. Of course I had to give her all the grits and pellets as well.

Hey Earthdog, you and I should hang out together, wait I think we have had some fun together in the past. I like your style, you say what you mean - so how did you get to join this place? You don't fit politically correct "don't say anything to offend me" or "hurt my feelings" *stop it, I'm gonna cry*

I think enough is enough. I have gotten " in trouble" a few times by saying things that were on my mind. Unfortunetly, not everyone thinks and feels the same as everyone else. Getting feelings hurt is part of life. Not having people agree with you is also a part of life. Live it or live in a box, just get over it. Enough is enough.

I'm really sorry there were hurt feelings but this is just wrong! I do not know or understand why this was even posted on the forum in the first place, it should have been kept private.

I agree it should have been kept private. In my little mind, it doesn't excuse danny-boys rant and name calling. 6 posts later and noone still doesn't disagree with the way he handled it? I'm disapointed. If I went and called someone 5 names, you all would let me know about it.

That's the problem ... Daniel didn't start calling names until everyone in this post started sounding off. He apologized and it was taken lightly which made him angry and he flew off the handle. Don't tell me you haven't done the same thing, I know I have.
Everyone here who indicated in someway that the person who said this or that was a piece of poo, one in a thousand or whatever was a part of adding fuel to the fire. Do you think that those little snippets weren't hurting Daniel's feelings? In the end, both of them ended up with hurt feelings and Daniel left.
I'm not taking sides, the way I see it, two RTH'ers were hurt and/or offended over an ebay auction. I feel terrible that it happened and very sorry for both of them but this is not an ebay feedback forum, it's a rock TUMBLING forum. It should not have been even brought up on this forum, it was a business transaction between the two of them and no one here should have been involved.

Edog: I do agree with you there. Name calling is never a good thing and helps not at all. Guess it's sort of a frustrated guy thing though. You know how, if you poke the dog with a stick, sooner or later he's gonna bark a bit *S*.....Mel

OK, enough is enough! I over reacted to Daniels email. I appreciated all of his help, only the phrase I posted was what hurt my feelings. The only reason I posted it here on the board is because two other members were brought into it. My emotions are whacko with my personal life being so messed up! I posted his apology to show that he was sincere. I think I went about this situation the wrong way! I want to post a public apology to Daniel. I never wanted him to quit the board. I am the one who should have thought before I spoke, not him. I have called Daniel and left a message for him to call me. I am hoping he will return my call and we can work things out. Brothers and Sisters have arguments sometimes. We as a family, here on this board, also have arguments. Daniel is still my brother and I want him back. Daniel, please call me.................I never meant this to go so far. I over reacted! I am so sorry. Please come back.

This thread won't die until it does.
I posted a rant at the start.
I later posted what I hoped would be seen as my effort to pour oil on troubled waters.
Still later I posted a response to Mark's comments.
Now I am posting my reactions to several other posts.
Sheri started a thread. Good or bad, right or wrong, there it was. No name was mentioned in the thread. But for anyone who reads most of the postings on this Forum a very real trend has been evident. Some of you might recall when Rockkitten expressed her dismay over a trip to a rock shop. While most readers/responders supported Rockkitten and offered tips for other locations, Daniel sounded in with an attack on Rockkitten. He then took it upon himself to discuss Rockkitten with the owner of the rock shop and then POSTED on this board his conversations and his accusations. And when taken to task, he attacked those who challenged what he had DECLARED.
Perhaps some of you read Rockhobbit's posts about the emotional turmoil she has recently experienced. Perhaps some of you read about her loss of her job. Perhaps some of you read about her dream to own and operate her very own rock shop. Perhaps some of you read her notice that she was selling rocks on eBay. Perhaps some of you even bid on and/or won some of those rocks on eBay and who knows why any of us bid and/or bought--because we could, because we had to have, because we cared and this was a way to help a friend--who knows? And perhaps some of you read Rockhobbit's "Thank You" thread wherein she expressed her sincere appreciation for all who did buy her rocks.
And if you did read the "Thank You" thread then you also saw this:
The Buy Sell and Swap Shop for Members. :: Thank You!

I had a few issues with the package I just got. I'll send a PM with teh details.
What I will say here is that things like end-cuts, serious tapers, and VERY approximate weights need more careful attention in future listings. Packing also needs to be a lot better. I was trying to be helpful, so the issues are less important, but a stranger on ebay would be leaving negative feedback about now. [Pasted in its entirety.]
Some of you will say that Daniel was just being Daniel. Fine.
He was never mentioned by name here until he named himself and even then he manipulated and insulted.
I should mention here that I never PUBLICLY thanked him for the OJ slab I won and the two little ready-to-finish cabs he sent me for having the lucky random number in a contest he sponsored. I thought the PM I sent him was appropriate but based on his remarks in his second most recent thread, I guess a personal Thank You was not enough considering what he posted:
Member Photographs. :: seems like a nice parcel ...
seems like a nice parcel ... « Thread Started on Yesterday at 2:07pm »
deb193 (currently listed as Guest) …”I had intended it to be a nice parcel when I assembled it, but I was struck this morning that it really was a neat mixture of colors, patterns, and rock types.
A little bit sad too. I had more or less given this parcel to another RTH member sometime last year. they did say thanks in a PM when I sent a pic before I mailed it off, but they never posted when they received it, or put a pic up on the board, or acknowledged the gift on the board as is customary. later this same person made ugly remarks to me.
Gosh, I kinda wish I could back in time and stop myself form mailing that parcel. But truth to tell, if I only had one trip back in time there would be a lot more important moments to consider.” [End Quote]
Daniel has such a way with words. He can compliment even as he makes one feel inadequate. He can offer advice even as he makes the questioner wonder why did I even ask. He can apologize even as he subtley states: "But I wasn't wrong".
Should he have left the RTH Board? His decision. Should he come back? His decision. Should he temper his words before displaying his temper?
I just wanted to let all of you know where I was coming from, why I said what I said, and what I feel.
I don't plan to leave--unless Administration asks me to. I'll continue to read all new and many of the old threads and postings. And I'll still joust at windmills and speak my mind. That's who I am--Kate Brummett. (Lady BeaBea is my poodle; I just borrow her name for posting.)

What? No more "PM Thank Yous" ? Are they all to be public posts so our egos can be stroked? If I send something it is because I want to not to make me feel better. I doubt there is anybody on this board that doesn't appreciate what is sent to them.,,,,,MrP

I almost won some bots on ebay. Is it true that they haven't been imported since the 70's?
