No guessing what those are, looks like it is still alive. It pays to saw fossilized material like that, the insides have too much to offer. educational and beautiful

Very nice Roy. What diameter are those pieces? Where did they come from? self collected?
The bottom looks like it might be oak as it has some rays. Is the top a conifer of some type?

Is the top a conifer of some type? no mark the first one there was no i'd on it when i got this last estate it was in the lot some on had put some kind of spray on it so i threw it on the grinder and did it the rite way !oh and it is 9 x6 x.75 the bottom is a cyprus from sunnyside washington a friend dug it many years ago and had it cut by a friend that has a 36" saw this one was gave to me to work it is 10x9x.5
