I have been trying to decide if my bruneau jasper cabs would look good in sterling or if I needed to fork out some money on gold filled wire. I figured I would wrap one in sterling so I could see it myself and maybe get some feedback on here before I wrap the rest. what do you all think? I still think gold might look better but probably about three times the cost. I did a couple more while I was all set up blue lace agate in sterling crazy lace groove wrapped in copper Thanks for looking Chuck

I really like the copper groove wrap with the crazy lace. I know the copper is a lot more red, but an experimental bruneau wrap in copper still might give an idea of what it might look like in gold.

If you change it to gold, everyone will ask if you have one in silver (honest)... brown always looks the best in gold though, I always save the silver for the grays, blacks and blues. Oh, beautiful work!!

I would vote for gold too, but only if you can charge three times the price, if it's for sale.

Oh, beautiful work!! good point. I have another cab very similar to the one I wrapped in silver so I might wrap the other in gold and place them both on etsy to see what sells first. Chuck

Like them all. You could get gold-filled wire or jeweler's gold (red brass), to check out the different colors.

First of all, your Bruneau pendant looks very good wrapped in silver. I'm sure, though, it would look better in gold. But you could reduce the cost by groove wrapping your Bruneau cabs with gold wire, because groove wrapping demands much less wire than a classic wrap.

Chuck- I really believe that you should bite the bullet and buy a small amount of 14 GF for your better stones. Bruno looks KILLER in gold.
All of your wraps look great BTW esp that copper lace.

Adrian has a great point, going with the groove wrap takes about 1/4 the wire so the cost to you doesn't increase, and the lovely bruneau orbs are not at all hidden by the wire.
