Laura and I don’t normally collect this late in the year, but this has not been a normal year by any means. Where we would normally be waist deep in snow, we have none after recent rains. Well today was just above the freezing point and the skies were sunny. A few wool inner layers and a windproof outer layer is all you need to survive. In spike of me cleaning out Partridge Island last fall, we headed back to a familiar location in hopes that recent rains and a few storms had brought some fresh material down from the basalt cliffs. We first found a few orange Stilbite floaters with some minor bruising from the tides, but we could tell the material was from a fresh fall. That was a clue to look a little harder and scratch beneath the surface. I managed to roll a few pieces of basalt where the Stilbite was face down and for the most part, not overly bruised. We managed to find several pieces within only a few hours. About 28 of them ranging in size from 1”-2” up to 6”-8” warranted a photo. This is a rare find that is basically a case of being in the right spot at the right time. With a few more tides, these could have ended up buried, or hopelessly bruised. Here’s a sampling of what we found. Darryl. The Floaters The Rollers

Glad the weather allowed a nice day of collecting (and rescuing), 150FromFundy. Those are superb specimens and love the second one and the vug of stilbite galore! Thanks for sharing them with us!

Interesting and beautiful specimens.
But the scaling coin also caught my eye, with that blue intarsia. What is it? Is it a normal coin or maybe a jubiliar one?
