I got some inexpensive and very beautiful boatite cabs from Superior Agates. She discloses the correct information. Not sure if she sells the rough, as I bought finished pieces. Another keyword term was Minnesota boatite. But I don't know about old school Fordite...

I have been tempted to try it but I always think of boats only coming in a few colors and most of the time not metallic finishes. I have no issues with all the new stuff being sold as long as the listing is not deceiving. I'll try any material once Chuck

But they do have a very high polish. I need to find my pictures or make new ones...

I just traded for some Fordite,gave some agates for them....I will just display my piece in my collection wihout doing anything with it..
