Was driving from Las Vegas to Quartzsite and during the 50 mile stretch of nothing pulled off the road for a brief stop. Picked up some quartz (there was much of it there) to check later for gold. I know, hi hopes of just grabbing some gold off the ground. After finding a handful of quartz pieces picked one up and then a couple more that were fire agates. Found a few that were better than this but haven't taken any photos yet. There are a couple that might actually be workable into jewelry. That was a great stop for a northern Wisconsin boy.

You never know maybe there will be gold in that quartz.

There is a woman on this forum who has a dog for an avatar who explained to me, as I was driving through the Bermuda Triangle where to find some. She was right too.
