Just found out it is an Ideal made in Kingman, AZ.
Needs an automatic shutoff but does cut.

I ran out of saws and I was bored so I went and bought the ideal. It is missing the screw feed components and the shut off is a really bad design so I think I am going to redo the feed to weight feed and move the shutoff and make it so it is an automatic shut off. Cleaned her out today, whoever had her before was running diesel, she stunk bad! Hope to have her smelling good in a day or two.

I've bought from the agateer before. Is this a good deal?

It's the best deal I've seen on a new saw. Especially with free shipping and oil. Some people like the Covingtons some aren't as impressed. Once I get the funds I'll be getting one. I only have an 8" saw right now. It's not near big enough for some of the rocks I want to saw.
Jsgems.com does have them cheaper. Not sure what shipping and oil would cost.

OK, with the oil it is a competitive price. This is one of the saws I mentioned from the beginning.

deb193reduxyou're good to notice the price difference. I think it's a good idea to support members. I'll definitely consider Johns gems when I get the money saved up.

You know, quartzite is up and running, and there are usually several sellers here who buy up what they can down there. You might wait to see what they find for resale and then offer here.... Or email Tony and ask him to find you one while he's down there???

To post pictures of your saw here you need to first post your photos on a picture hosting site. There are some free picture hosting sites out there. I use photobucket. I tried flickr but never could get it to transfer to here. But with photobucket I was able to do so by following RTH member Iant's instructions found about half way down the page on this page link: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/22977/posting-pics-instructions?page=2Larry C.

Don't forget to factor shipping. Sometimes Kingsly has sales that offer free shipping for some manufactures. And, if we were keeping count, this is one more vote for the Baranaca HP14. It is a few hundred over max budget, but over the life of that saw a few hundred spreads out to very little difference.

nice saw. cigar box does nice work. their prices reflect it. but if you want solid tried-and-true models completely refurbished, they see great. of course, the price reflects it. if you put img and /img tags in square brackets around you URL, it will display the picture. You can get these direct from photobucket too. But then you need the image sized for online display. With the link photobucket kind of does the resizing.

That's like a slightly larger, way cleaner version of my 14 inch HP. Very nice, and so much better than the new Chinese crap that wears a HP nameplate.
