Hi all,
It's been a while since my last "roll" and I've got some stuff ready for polishing and I seem to remember 6 tbs of AO polish for a 3 lbs lortone barrel. For some reason that seems like a lot. Can anyone confirm that amount?
Thanks

Does sound a like too much fmelvis. 1/2-3/4 tablespoons per pound sounds about right

yeah the lortone 3A instructions say 6 tablespoons but I never remember using that much. Seems like I used 3-4 tablespoons of polish back in my rotary days. Chuck

The Lortone instructions indeed say 6 tbs. polish. Agreed that it may be too much. However that is what I have always used. Makes a pretty thick polish slurry which may be a good thing.

Remember to save your polish it can be used over and over. And if it a little dirty I use it for my pre polish then use fresh polish until it gets dirty. I have been using the same polish for over two years now. I let it sit in a bucket the polish settles and then just scoop out the water . Mind ya I run 7 to 9 15lb tumblers at a time. Even right now I am waiting for some grit to come in from the rock shed ( not a plug for the rock shed I just like using them as a few others here do ) So I have been running some big pieces of wood each tumbler with just polish to see what I get. Been running about a month. Will post the results .

Riverrock, that is a LOT of tumbling capacity. What the heck do you do with all those shiny stones?

I have just been putting them around my pool for landscaping.
