The price would be $15 + $3 postage for 1/3 cup=188 grams=940 carats or $30/pound + $3 postage = 1 cup = +500 grams = +2500 carats Specific gravity is 3.8, close to max of 4.2 for almandine garnet, probably due to some foreign debris. They should tumble fine with agate. Incandescent light: Fluorescent light: 940 carats: Another angle: it is 20 year old stock US garnets

We use them for filler, they work great. Why not. You can reuse them or let them roll thru polish and start with new rough ones. They basically end up being a polished by-product.

jamesp, I see one beneath the dime and about 3 from the outside of the top right that have very nice crystal faces. Weeping that those will be used for tumbling... Just kidding...

I will probably sort my batches Jan, lots of crystals. It also depends on other factors in their collection. Wish they were larger.

James,I'll take a pound too!!!!! No hurry,no worries my friend...Thumbs up Your on, Michael. I got a half pound in with agate in the tumbler. Maybe before you guys buy I will take photos to see how they are cleaning up. That way you will have a better idea of how they react to tumbling before you buy. Feel certain they will be quite rich in color.

Jim can you let me know how much it would cost for a couple of pounds to Scotland? I want to try these with my agates. Thanks Ian I will find out Ian. I changed the price to $39 for 3.5 pounds plus shipping. Would that suit you ? 3.5 pounds would fill a Lot-O to 50% by volume. And a USPS small flat rate box tight with 3 bag wrap. Plenty of filler for a 3 pound rotary at high filler % and a 6 pounder at partial filler %. They are gentle for the rotary, not 100% sure about using them in the vibe on all agates just yet. Will PM pricing. Thanks.
