Really nice looking batch. I like the piece that appears to be mook in the center of the first pic.

Thanks everyone....love it when a batch is finished. Toad that is mookiate. It's a cab that I made. It ended up having a crack in it so I used it to see how cabs do in a vibe. It was super shiny after pre polish that it probably didn't need to go into polish.

Very nice shiny tumbles, meviva! Looks like you have a little bit of everything in there. mohs will love the heart-shaped tumble in your first pic.

tkvancil I think you might be looking at the kambaba jasper. I have some sea jasper, but I don't think it will ever get out of course grind…it has a lot of big pits in it. Andrea

Nice batch! Excellent polish and a good variety. What did you finish them on? Rotary or vibe? What recipe?

matt2432 Thanks. I started in the rotary with 60/90. Then into an ultra vibe for 120/220, 500 pre polish, and polish. I used borax to burnish between each step. I sorted rock by rock in between each stage only pulling out the ones that were ready to move on and even putting some back a step if needed. I might even take some of these out and put them back a stage or two to see if they get a better polish. Andrea

tkvancil I think you might be looking at the kambaba jasper. I have some sea jasper, but I don't think it will ever get out of course grind…it has a lot of big pits in it. Andrea I had bought 5 pounds of Sea Jasper from the Rockshed. Very pretty and interesting rock. The 5# turned into 2# and I only had a few good ones out. I liked it enough to get 5 more pounds though and it's running now. Frustrating however, like you said full of pits, and some of the light brown "eyes" want to undercut. I have been taking a pointed punch and re-breaking the rocks at the pits/voids. Stick the point in the void and whack it with a hammer. A few nice smalls is better than one pitted big one.

I got my sea jasper from the Rockshed also. I will probably buy more because I do like it. I will have to try breaking it at the pits like you did to see if that helps. Please post pictures when yours are finished. Andrea

These are really superb! Excellent tiger eye - I've not managed a finish any where as near as good as that on my attempt! Thanks for sharing these beauties!
