I bought a flat of small cabinet specimens (2” to 3”) from the Sweetwater Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds County, Missouri. This area has produced lead, zinc, copper and silver since 1720 and continues to produce the majority (70%) of the lead used in the US today. The area is famous for its sulphides (chalcopyrite, galena) and its carbonates (calcite, dolomite). Enjoy the pics. Darryl. Awesome specimens! How does one come by buying a flat from this mine?

You scored some nice pieces there. A few of them look like material out of Europe or Russia. Thumbs up!

Roland: I bough this flat online from Dan Weinrich of Weinrich Minerals, Inc. Not considering postage, I paid $40 for the dozen, so that works out to $3.33 each. There are currently a few more flats in the $36 to $40 price range. To find them easier, enter Sweetwater Mine or Viburnum Trend in the location field and you will find them fast. danweinrich.com/Good luck. Darryl.
