On my way out to Quartzite I did a side trip to Burro Creek. vwfence Wayne met up with me in Kingman and took me out there. I have to say, Burro Creek is the most amazing and wild place I have ever been. An amazing portion of the state. I have started cutting my spoils and will post images as I get more stuff cut. The first one knocked my socks off so I had to share. Breccia for snowmom, sorry for the crappy cell phone picture. The white pastelite shards are floating is agate soup. The agate is pretty clear so you can see into the stone. Imaged wet with oil. I got lucky on this one. It shifted in my vice, but did not effect the blade.

Second agate Piece #3 was a dud. Just plain white pastelite like a wedding cake.

That first one is fantastic! I need to learn a bit about hounding the AZ areas. I really know nothing about it even though I am so close.
And desert sunrises/sunsets are the best.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I agree that first one is crazy. I almost dropped it in awe when I took my first peak.

Thanks for the breccia photo, it made me sit up and claw at the screen... neat little bit of color in the middle, too, are those little plumes? Really a great piece! My mom grew up in Arizona. They are famous for their sunsets. I loved all the color in yours. That ones where the gold and pink was bouncing light off the bottom of the clouds look like the gates of Heaven are ready to open up. That second breccia is no slouch, either, it is sort of the plainer sister in comparison to #1, but still pretty in its own right. What other goodies did you bring home? Thanks for the report!

Great photos and trip report. I had to do a lot of digging to find these photos but as soon as I saw your rock pics I had to search because I think I have the same thing only mine came from here. Jim What do you think? If you look hard and long enough around here you can find just about every kind of rock there is.

I almost loaded up the second one when you offered. I think. Now I am curious what the ones I did take look like. We will find out in the spring.
