there does seem to be a very clear difference between the first material and what comes after. The first seems to have agate like eyes and a few "poppy" like areas... complex and beautiful stuff whatever it is. Maybe somebody will recognize it. When I looked at your post and saw "yellow Cat" I was not at all sure what I'd see when I opened the thread.

That is the prettiest conifer limb cast that I have seen to date. Nice find!

Good eye on spotting the heart shape.
The purple center one is nice. I was watching the redwood video and the guy says the crystally stuff in the middle starts out as barite.
A friend of mine found it last October, glued it and polished it. Larry Walker polished the comma redwood piece.

Didn't you post some very large agate/barite specimens on the forum not too long ago? Larry Walker polished the comma redwood piece. It's a beauty! Love that intense red!

I couldn't get a full frontal photo of the comma redwood piece without tons of glare.

bhiatt I am jel! I've been to Yellow Cat several times. Never anything like this. These are tremendous! Were those three pieces found separately and joined together? That is amazing.

the 3 pieces was one limb/twig that was fractured. It is common for the Utah redwood limbs/twigs to be broken into sections. The largest limb cast is right around 6" inches wide. Most found are pretty small. The 3 sections were glued together. In the Yellow Cat Redwood DVD I showed pics of, Larry Walker is shown doing fine sandblasting to bring out the red and also he matches the glue to the red color of the limb cast. I have around 350-400 tiny little broken pieces around a 1/4 inch long.
I have a few more neat pieces that I need to photograph.
