I haven't done any wrapping in quite a while, other than as gifts for friends & family. My wire wraps hit a wall and I haven't made much additional progress with them. I like multi-wire wraps, but I don't like making them lol I have seen photographs of hammered wire wraps and I really like how they look. I decided to try one to see how it would go. The first thing I did was drop the cab and snap off the top of it..so first lesson learned is don't wrap over a concrete floor..This was a test wrap, so I went ahead made it lol I went through about 36" wire before I figured out how to start and finish the wrap. The bail kept throwing me. I couldn't figure out how to make it work; or, how to make the wrap tight with it. Once I finally got it right in my head, I made this one. It is rough, but it is literally my first one. Tools were a hammer, anvil, wire cutters, round nosed pliers, small file, 000 steel wool, and round 18ga dead-soft copper. I will likely re-wrap this stone a few times to work out the bail a bit more. It is close to what I see in my head, but not quite right. Anyway - first wrap of the new year is done lol Roger

I like the look of that. When I first started trying to wrap I attempted some wraps where the wire went around the stone and never finished one that I liked. This one I like. Jim

I like the simplicity of that design and the copper compliments the stone nicely. Nice job.

I made two more trial wraps. I was primarily working on the bail and how to secure the stone. It took a few tries bending the wire around the back before it finally made sense. Lesson learned on this set was super glue is really thin. If you apply a little too much, it run down the wire onto the front. Now I just need to pull it all together on one... Roger

Nice job! I like the simplicity. Focus is on the stone. Thanks for showing the back, too.
