They call it lots of things, but I call it Lolly rock. It comes from Northern NM, but you can also buy some similar from Jason at NM Stone Supply, a member here. Medium size box for medium size box. What have you? Here are pics of what I have left to trade.

I've heard that some wonderstone tumbles well and some doesn't. Is this the hard stuff?

Well, jamesp said it tumbled and polished well. I know when I cab it, it takes a very nice shine. hardness? I don't know. I just know it's hard on my saw blade, and polished well. Maybe jamesp will chime in here....

I've heard that some wonderstone tumbles well and some doesn't. Is this the hard stuff? Rob- I got a box from Phil a while ago but its been too cold to bust it up for tumbling. There were a few small pieces in the box and I have had those running in the last few loads these are completed And these are running now so I just took this picture after my 1000 grit clean out so these are going into polish tonight. Nice Chuck! I sent you some good ones, eh? <Grin>
One of the spots I used to collect at has the ground covered with smaller, perfect sizes for tumbling, but I never bothered to pick any up. Probably could fill a 5 gallon bucket in about 5 shovel loads. But it's far enough from me that it's not worth the gas just to go to fill buckets of the bits and pieces.....

No complaints here If it ever gets above freezing here (9 degrees right now) I'll go back to that box and see what is worth slabbing and what will get reduced for tumbling. Chuck

I got some Chipboard ryolite that I would trade for some Phil but I need big pieces to slab for non polished wall hanging slabs with flint knives mounted on them. What you think?

I'd say that stuff polishes great. I couldn't remember where James got his. I'm a little low on trade stuff right now, but I have some Kona Dolomite, some smallish unakite, but big enough to get some cabs out of, same medium grade Petoskey stones, and there are probably a few fossils left. I might have some other odds and ends if anything sounds interesting.

Big enough to cut slabs that a 4-5 inch spear point pale style would mount on it, some 3- 4 inch points.
Chipboard ryolite is sorta reddish brown and looks like wooden chipboard. Sorry can't take pics. I could put some misc. AZ. stuff in too.

Maybe jamesp will chime in here.... It polishes fine unless you heat treat it. Chuck polished it, but he can polish a brick. If James can, any one can. There is a tan band in there that grinds faster and does not polish well, but it is not common.
