oh my goodness, I can see why you could not resist them. The one with the contrasting center is amazing, is it an inclusion or still jade but differently colored? I have never seen anything like that. fascinated.......

Impressive blue. If you or he figure out that you have too much of that I would sure take some off your hands. Jim

Wow! Those first two blue examples are awesome. I've seen the type in your last pic and maybe even have some in the rock pile but those first two pictures are a type I've not seen before. Great colors in those for sure!.....Mel

snowmom, a lot of the jade from the Darrington/Oso area (which is where these were collected) start out blue. Over time, they are exposed to mineral rich soil and water which slowly penetrates the stone and alters the color to green (or other colors). Often times there's only a blue eye left in the center where the iron content isn't as high. One of the pieces of nephrite I sent you a while back has a similar thing going on with multiple areas of light blue still visible. @shotgunner, the second stone's my favorite out of the bunch. It's a true, rich blue and the intensity of the color isn't captured very well, if you can believe that. @wampidy, One can never have too much of this stuff, but my gf disagrees so I'll keep you in mind. Mel, I'd be interested in seeing your blue if you stumble across it.

I liked #2 also in color, but for me the shape is not good. #1 all day long for this sphere maker!

You mention he has some for sale? Can I get a name-contact if possible by PM or on here? Thanks

Thanks for posting the link bhiatt. Yeah, he always seems to have a nice, varied assortment of rough available including a lot of the blue. Damn, I already see another one that's tempting me.

Chris, I went out to the garage and dug out your box of jade, yes, there are a couple of pieces with very nice blue areas and other areas that were stained... I see exactly what you mean.(one you found in your back yard!) Heh, it is below zero out, that jade was COLD... keeping it in the house now so I can admire it and handle it all over again. It still has all the labels in the original wrappings so I can keep learning from it. You sent me so much good information there. next morning. Once the jade thawed I looked again and found a couple nice pieces with blue eyes almost like the one you posted!
