Link worked perfect, even if not logged into FB. Stellar cabs, you got the doublet program nailed. Thanks for posting/sharing. Cheers

Randy- those are incredible! They all look like little terrariums- like miniature landscapes. So awesome!! I think I still like black best.

Hey- I just noticed that your etsy shop is gone! I hardly ever go to FB. Is that the only place to get your doublets now?

Yeah, problem with etsy is that I sold less than 100 cabs in two years. Last year on FB I sold almost 1,200 cabs. I'd break that record if it wasn't so cold outside. (you've seen where I do my cutting) lol

Yeah, Max already called work and they will be closed. Kids will be home, son will be home from classes... we'll all be here. I foresee board games. When it warms up, yeah, I'd like to make it over again.

Thought you would have a heater in that greenhouse Randy.

No heater in the greenhouse, everything in there is dried up. lol
Tela- Cool! Doublets are the most fun you can have on a cabbing machine, and I've never cabbed a doublet that was a reject like some of my other cabs (that are now in the rock garden).

Nice work, I have never done any doublets but will have to try now. What is your backing? How thick is it? How thick is the top piece? It was a high here of 0 today probably wont be doing anything outside until May!

Great show. That's some serious eye-candy.
Later this month, I'm going to set up another page with main-focus on learning and crossover styles between carving, facetting and cabbing of mixed material. Planing to have regular themed contests too. Please send me a Friend request (can't do it on your page) so I can send you an invite when the page is ready. I'm sure your style could easily be a favorite regardless how many carvers participate.

Awesome cabs Randy. Is it a natural colored material on the back like obsidian for the black background or treated somehow? Really nice!

For the backers I use a thin slice of black agate, red jasper, lapis and reconstituted turquoise. For the moss agate doublets I use white agate. All of my doublets are about 2.5mm thick on the backer and 1.5mm thick on the plume agate.
