Some day I want to build an old wood fired kiln and melt my own glass. Some retailers around here, amazing it's popularity.

I have seen a wood stove with a long flue in a 2 story open mountain cabin turn cherry red from feeding motor oil to the fire. I think the oil burns so hot that it is like a catalytic converter. Look up 'pot melt' on youtube. Like making a glass pizza.
