Howdy folks, Well, just got the remainder of the Rio Grande load from the pebblepups and their pebblepop. This is the first time they actually got out and hiked rather than just roadside hunting. More Rio Grande agate in one place than I've ever seen in my life, eight heaping five gallon buckets full. One sitting right on top is the nicest Rio Grande red poppy I've ever seen and it weighs almost six pounds. Anyway, if we ever see any freaking sun here in Texas ( frozen like the Artic right now) I'll get these washed off and take some pics. Here they are all covered with mud right now. As Joey from friends would say. I'm gonna have more fun than a sack full of monkeys sorting this agate!. I already sorted out all the smalls as they are spoken for.....Mel

If there's any palm or shrink wood in the pile, set some aside for me. Wouldn't mind a hunk of that red poppy either. Just stuff a Med box full for me. Top it up with whatever you've got.

Don, haven't decided how to market that fancy poppy yet as it's worth considerably more than the regular per pound price we charge. If it would fit my vice, I'd saw some off it myself. Probably sell it as an individual piece or auction it. I haven't gone through the pile yet but I can see only one piece of palm fiber which is just earth tones and one piece of palm pocket rot wood which is rarer than heck so I'm keeping that one and slabbing it. Never seen one quite like it and colorful as all get out too. Rest of the wood is just common looking stuff and I've yet to see any shrinkwood from the ranch but it may be they just don't know to pick it up. Let me clean and sort the pile first and I'll let you know what I've got to offer up......Mel

Mel, if you decide to sell or auction that hunk of poppy, let me know. If I can't win it, I can at least run the bid up and get the kids top dollar for it.

You can go ahead and put me on a list for some Rio when you get ready to sell some!
