Hey Don I look forward to seeing the Pink Plume from Nyssa! I dug a piece out last year that is about 8 inches square and a foot long! Very hard rock mining. I haven't slabbets it yet. Didna have a saw big enough but Mark/Marinedad gave me a 14 inch one and now that I am home I am gonna cut it!

Dang Victor, you've got some choice slabs there. It'd be hard to pick a favorite.
I scored some rough of a couple hard to find varieties. Got 2lb 13 oz of a rare variety of Wild Horse called Wild Horse Banded. and 3-1/2 lbs of Desert Queen. Now I've got a good excuse to clean the 10" saw and put a new blade on it.

Looks like you have some nice material Mike. I'm still waiting for the weather to decide what it's going to do, so I can drag the saw out. Rain & snow expected for the next 4 or 5 days.
Got a bunch of new slabs yesterday. Pics sometime today.

And finally a couple of fairly recent finds from the Owyhees Painted Lady From the McDermitt area. Nyssa Pink Plume. From near the Oregon/Idaho border, west of Adrian in the Owyhee Mts.

Very nice Owyhees, victor1941, and amazed that you have had them since the 60's and 70's. I like your faced jasper and slabs, Fossilman! The pastel colors in the Painted Lady are pretty and haven't heard of Blue Moon pic jasper before. How is Mamma jakesrocks doing after her surgery, and is she at home now, Don? I hope she is doing well!!

How is Mamma jakesrocks doing after her surgery, and is she at home now, Don? I hope she is doing well!! [/quote] Hi Jan, and thanks for asking. I brought her home at noon on Sunday. Since then she's been driving me crazy. I'm working on about 3 hours of sleep per night, and a quick nap or 2 during the day. For the first couple of days I even had to help her to get off the toilet. Jake has been a big help. If I'm napping in my recliner and mamma calls for me, he barks to wake me up. Can't remember exactly where in the Owyhee's the Blue Moon is from. I'll have to look it up and see if they give a location. But first I've got to load mamma in the car to take her in for therapy and some lab work. Too tired to cook, so I'll stop at Subway on the way back home.

I think that looking up the location for the Blue Moon can wait until you get some rest, Don, and please do not forget take care of yourself, too. I'm glad she is home and that she was able to come home on Easter. Got a bit tickled that Jake is helping you out. Smart boy! Have you thought about getting a walker or cane to help Mamma jakesrocks get around much better? Rick used a walker after he broke his hip and femur. I surely can't move him around, lol.

She has a walker. We saved my moms after she passed away. At least it lets me know when she's up & moving around. Makes a clipity clop sound on the floor.

Never seen chicken track with such nice, clean colors or pattern. By the way, a rock shop has a bunch of chicken track available here in Glendale, AZ (or maybe it's Peoria). I'd say a couple of hundred pounds or so, at least they had it the last few times I went in there. Anyway, their rough is usually $3 a pound for most of their rocks. I might have to pick some up.

Never knew there were so many kinds of jaspers................Thumbs up Hey Mike, this is just a small portion of what comes out of the Owyhee's. Some varieties are so rare that they're only found in private collections.
