At past shows I have always displayed my wire wraps laying flat on the table in riker cases but at the last show I did I had a lady tell me that she thought my wire wraps deserved to be on display better so that people passing by could see them right away. I have my first show of the year coming up in three weeks and today was finally warm enough to go out in the garage and build what I had in mind. This will actually be nice just for keeping them on display in the rock shop too. Could even modify the design a bit and make it wall mountable. I am not sure if I am going to paint all the wood white or maybe just spray clearcoat on it. dowel rod keyway detail Thanks for looking Chuck

Thats really nice, Chuck. How did you make those router cuts? Did you use a jig of some sort, or just do them freehand?

Very nice Chuck. I say clearcoat. Also a sheet of plexiglass at home to keep the dust out. I spend a lot of time wiping dust and fingerprints off my pendants and cabs at both shows and home.

Much like rocks woodworking was my previous hobby that also turn into a side business. That's going back a few years but I still enjoy designing and building stuff when I get the chance.

Well, you sure did a good job. I'm not surprised that you're also good at woodworking.

Tarnish is the bigger enemy for all the sterling silver. I just spent three days cleaning all my silver wraps in the tumbler. three wraps at time for 2 hours each in stainless shot. I think I am going to break down and start storing them in ziploc bags with anti tarnish strips added. Chuck

Tarnish is bad but I keep mine in lil zip lock bags And have them in compartment white plastic trays with lids from harbor freight. I put the flat cotton facial pads from Walmart in the pocket bottoms. The dividers pull out to make different custom sizes. I take the lid off and set the nox in it tilted up on 2x2s.

That looks REALLY nice! What I like best is that people can see how well the pendants hang. Great idea- well executed!!

That is a lovely case! I was going to vote for a clear coat, but changed my mind. Since the background is white, I think the case should be white so the cabs can stand out more.

Very nice! Beautiful display for some beautiful pendants. I vote clear coat on the wood, maybe after a light stain?

I'm probably in the minority but her wraps are great and so is the wood work I think a nice stain to bring out the grain of the wood and a clear coat for the convenience of cleaning and a neutral background would be the way to go both of your skills are fantastic try to compliment both.

Chuck, that is a great way to display the cabs, and super nice workmanship. I bet you do get requests from other sellers, or they will take notes and copy yours. From a cleaning lady's point of view, go with the clearcoat or a light stain and then clearcoat. White paint alone will rub and be much harder to keep clean and new looking. If you do decide to paint, seal it like crazy so it is easier to keep clean and protect the finish from dings.

Chuck if you ever do take orders I would get one and hang it on the wall in my bathroom. It would be perfect for earrings and cabs alike!
