Those are sweet, too, and look polished? Have you received your specimens that went on tour with the Agate Expos, bhiatt?

ohmygoodness. So blue and so beautiful. Nice batch in the box too. are those as found or have they had a little surface enhancement? I don't know if I would recognize something like that in the field, it must take an experienced eye to spot bone out in the dust and dirt. Keep posting! Thanks for showing these to us.

The bones in the blue container are from an older gentleman I got last year. I don't know where they were found. The blue pair by themselves were purchased from Ernie Shirleys rock shop in Utah when he was still alive.

bhiatt 's dino bones are museum quality Pat. Smithsonian museum sounds prestigious enough for his treasures. Used as an adjective I suppose.

Beautiful blues! Thanks! Do you know why they are blue? silica rich ground with certain minerals is how they get their color. Blue is about the rarest along with canary yellow.

If it's from Utah, copper is a likely impurity to impart blue color. Chromium and iron can also color agates blue (iron can yield a wide palette of colors).
