Hi all, Just thinkin about whats happened in the last 4 months. While "gem grubbin" at a local mine, I realisied on the way home that a diamond had popped out of a cluster setting ring I was wearing that had been passed down to me from my grandmother. A while later, after an afternoon of rock hunting in the Chattahoochi river, I saw that the 3/4 caret diamond from a ring my late husband had given me (it belonged to his father) had come out of the setting. Day before yesterday, a saphire and diamond bracelet my husband gave me for my birthday 2 years ago was no longer on my wrist. I've long believed that when we take from the earth, we should give something back. Seems to me Mother Nature, I got some change coming... cookie

Cookie, I am so sorry to hear about you losing the bracelet and the stones out of your rings. That is really a shame! Now, I'm gonna fuss at you! ;D Are you outta your ever lovin' mind wearing nice jewelry when you go gem grubbin'/rockhounding?!

I know,.. My husband (bless his well meaning heart) has allways encouraged me to wear my jewlery. Iv'e always felt I should switch it it out, not wear it constantly. Maybe good things will come of it. I don't blame him, and I'm not in mourning about it. But I should not have worn my jewlry in those conditions. But I'm sad cookie

I'm sad for you!
When my house washed down the creek a couple of years ago, along with it went several things that were my mom's. The thing I hated the most was losing all the sweet notes she had left for me to find.

What's on paper is so often more meaningful than what's on stone and of much greater value. My heart goes to you cookie
