Here are a few more that I've done. Obviously these are coins I had come across Bikerrandy's beautifully wrapped coins in posts of years back and I thought, what a great idea for me to use coins as practice because I don't have any decently shaped rocks to wrap yet. Another great reason was that my daughter had actually crazy glued a quarter onto a chain to wear to school! So now she can wear a much classier quarter, lol!
So coins it is as I wait for my tumbles to be done to see what I can wrap. So these were totally inspired from Randy's coins..but the designs have no real rhyme or reason to them, I try to have a plan and then I never stick to it, lol.. I tried so hard to get the front wires to go out in the shape of the coin more but I didn't want to risk messing the whole thing up. And I missed the mark with my bottom bindings. they're crooked. But I'm happy with them. Oh, and I have no idea how I can mess up the bail so much, lol
Then I tried this nice piece of polished and shaped laboradorite. I don't have many finished pieces but this one I got from my brother in law who used to own an astrology store and sold crystals there. I bought a lot of his extra stuff but mostly rough crystals. I wanted this to be very simple. My bottom bindings need help here.
This next one is an almost perfect triangle of rough green aventurine. A little help from my meat tenderizer/hammer and a small screwdriver shaped it so that the inclusion broke perfectly, forming a triangle. And wow, how this came out so big here, you can see where the wire is all nicked up.
I think that brings me to 10 wraps so far. I am truly enjoying it. Again, sorry for the pic quality, they're taken from my phone. And thanks for looking!
