I have an old slab that I recently cut up and shaped into preforms to go into my tumbler. I am calling this Blue Lace Agate but some of the pieces do have orbs/eyes. Is there a better name for this? Thanks...

Looks like blue lace that was cut perpendicular to the pattern.

Yup, Blue Lace but cut parallel to the banding. I have a slab somewhere and the venders, at that time, even gave it a different trade name when cut in that direction...Mel

Checked my type collection. Just for your information, back in the 70's when African Blue Lace that was cut parallel to the banding like your examples was sold, the trade name was "Katanga Blue" agate.....Mel

Katanga blue sounds familiar. I knew there was another name but I lost the tag that came with the slab years ago. Yeah I got it in the 90s, would be the early 90s. Maybe the same dealer, who knows. Time gets away...
