I was out for a walk around one of the crap yards and came across this old tank. WW2? or newer? I wonder what he wants for it.

Yank the turret & some of the armor plate off, put rubber road tracks on it, and you've got one heck of a go anywhere rock getter.

When scrap iron goes back up it would be worth a chunk.

My husband would like to keep one for a pet, too. (study of US military history has been his lifetime hobby). There is a lot of paperwork that goes with these, the Gov't keeps track of them forever, you just get temporary custody. There was a huge to-do about a tank some guy kept at his homestead in McLean Co IL (where I used to live)in the 1990's. The tank was taken back by the government.I believe the guy got it from Gov't "surplus" telling them it was for a museum. He may have had plans for a museum but it didn't materialize. Evidently the Fed.don't let 'just anybody' have a tank. I'll see if I can find old news blurbs. Would take quite a bit of effort to load that thing for transport one would suspect it is non functional at this point. what size winch would you need to drag that onto a flatbed? LOL Curious what you might find out about it..
