If you could redesign a drop saw similar to The Lortone series 14 and 16 inch saws, or even the old Gemstone drop saws, what changes would you make? I've modified mine to include a drain and handles, and added a base. What would you change? (and if you've already done it, can you post a pic?)
Thanks! Phil

I would add a hydraulic cylinder like a screen door cylinder with speed control to set the rate of speed with smaller sections of rocks. I haven't done it and probably won't, don't have a drop saw.

Lortones have a pathetic coolant pumping system that needs replacing and they need some kind of an adjustable added weight system cause they often don't feed worth spit. Also need a good tray for coolant that has a drain plug so you don't have to lift the whole dang saw from the tray to clean it properly......Mel

Yeah, pretty much figured those out already, plus an enclosure, but was wondering if anyone had any other good mods. Thanks!
