Beautiful! So do you know what it is or where it's from? I've seen similar stuff from Big Sandy Creek and the Varian V6 Ranch at Parkfield, CA but not quite like that one.....Mel

I do not know for sure. The guy I got it from insisted it is stone canyon so that's what I've been calling it. My brother showed it to a old timer in his club who insisted it was from death valley but short of ever seeing anything similar from there I'm not embracing that ID as of yet.

Tommy, There is a breccia very like Stone Canyon that comes from down Indian Pass way. I have a boulder I got from an estate and that's where the guy told me it was from but I have my doubts as it really looks like Stone Canyon to me. The Varian V6 ranch has a creek that drains the Stone Canyon area and Big Sandy Creek drains the same area but runs west. If I had to vote for your piece, I'd guess Big Sandy.....Mel

Since this is yellow and I found a white/yellow mixed Agate today I'll post: Not as awesome as the OP's rock, but to find near the railroad tracks after picking something up from the store isn't too shabby.

Sure looks related to Stone Canyon. All those patterns in one piece are pretty.

I always think of Stone Canyon as yellows and golds, not reds as you have. Very pretty!
