This was one of the surprises, it was included in a shipment of snakeskin agate from Catmandewe. Do you think someone recently worked this agate or is it an authentic native American relic accidently included in my shipment.

These are purchases from the Rockshed, Brazilian garnet, tigers eye and laborite. This is from our first batch I let the kids pick out the rocks and then we threw them in the tumbler, wont make that mistake again.

These are two Rios from Mel. The top one looks like a sunset.

This came with a bag of prairie agates from The Rockshed. It looks like it may be a Fairborn or at least a nearborn.

This is another surprise. Before tumbling the rock just looked like a dull quartz but after tumbling the gold threads appeared.

Nice tumbles, The last one is Rutilated Quartz. Sometimes called Grass Stone, the yellow crystals are Rutile a Titanium mineral.

Thank you Paul, was hoping for gold but Rutile is nice too. Will keep my eye out to buy some more, they are fun to tumble.

Wonderful shine on your first batch and enjoyed your surprises, rockymom! Woah...garnets!! Those look sweet! How long did you tumble them? I like your tiger eye and labradorite tumbles, too. How large are the Brazilian garnets that you purchased from The Rock Shed? Haven't checked in a while, but last time I looked at the Rock Shed website, all of the garnets were sold out.

(drool)Hi Gingerkid, yes I bought the garnets from the Rockshed, just checked and they are still in stock. They were all less than one inch, mostly 1/2 inch and most had lots of fractures that I don't think could have be tumbled out, or if you did tumble them out the garnets would be very small in the end. I tumbled them in the vibe (4days 220 with one clean and reload, 2 days pre-polish and 2 days polish). They were also on the expensive end, not sure they were worth the price but I am new so someone with more experience might be able to work wonders with them.

Thanks, rockymom, I'll have to check out the RS website to see if they have 'em in stock. Yours look awesome! jamesp and broseph82 have tumbled some garnets.
