Beautiful! What is the difference between Double Flow and Triple Flow? I keep hearing the terms but I have yet to get a clear explanation. Bob

Those refer to streams of different obsidian that intermingle in the same piece.
Double Flow = red + translucent, or black + translucent Triple Flow = red + black + translucent
In more contorted patterns, both can form "Lace," "Ribbon" and other patterns. The black + red, brown, gray or orange are usually called something else (Mahogany, Gray Band, Tiger, Mahogany Swirl, etc.).

Thank you for the explanation about double/triple flow. I have been working obsidian for over 40 years and frequently heard these terms but always when I asked about what it meant I got a blank stare or a shoulder shrug. Now I know! I guess I could have a double flow mahogany midnight lace piece, or even a triple flow midnight lace. Hmmmm. Bob

It is all fun to look at! I got one piece of rainbow, but have not cut it ,yet!

I love triple flow! That's some beautiful material, woodman. jakesrocks, do you have any pics of your belt buckle?? Hey, y'all! I just wanted to make sure that folks know that @rocks2dust is a forum member and I'm glad to call him a good friend. I know that Don and a few others know him. He also sells on ebay, but I did not enlist his name cause I want all his pretty materials to myself... Greedy and Stingy when it comes to rocks... (I'm sorry, @rocks2dust) Here's a list of many of the gem obsidian types that was published by R2D. (rocks2dust) www.ebay.com/gds/Obsidian-Gem-Types-/10000000001180577/g.html
